About
(13" X 19" Print)
Andy Warhol's rise in the art world hit the accelerator roughly during the time of the that the primary steam behind the "flower movement" was running out. A time, which Hunter S. Thompson once commented; "With the right kind of eyes, you can almost see the high-water mark - the place where the wave broke and rolled back.". Working solely within pop-art tones of red, black and the neon intensity that defined a good deal of Warhol's aesthetic (not to mention, the poster art of many within a generation), Bill Doherty demonstrates how much complex emotion can be drawn from the dichromatic.
