Many times we've run across a brand-name history that follows the narrative of a family or individual artisan marque that, one way or another, winds up years later as a mass-produced factory operation. S. Bang is an unusual case of the reverse; Per and Ulf went from working in Sven Bang's factory workshop, to taking over the marque upon Sven's passing, and turning it into one now known for some of the finest artisanal Danish pipes around, made by only their own hands. This pretty good-sized Lovat, sporting those iconic S. Bang proportions, was original created for the European market, as indicated by the presence of a grading stamp (the "8", that is). Unlike a lot of the European-market S. Bangs we've seen though, it features a standard chamfered tenon, rather than the 9mm-filter version.
