The "243" is a design which hails from, at a best guess, from the 1960s. It's a classic example of the kind of light and trim, high-rimmed designs you would have found throughout Stanwell and Kriswill catalogs of the era. Unfortunately, the original Kriswill went under decades ago, taking all of their vintage shapes with them. But, on the other hand, after a lengthy production hiatus on the "243" shape, Stanwell brought it back sometime around '04, making it a lot easier to find examples of these little icons of Danish pipe making history.
