Soborg is a rather unusual maker, not really for any other reason besides the example I have sitting here in front of me. There is really no information out there, and after consulting Pipedia I was disappointed to find "No details known! Conceivably a derivative of Søren Refbjerg Rasmussen; Søborg." Now, without confirmation I can't say definitively if the pipe indeed does come from Mr. Refbjerg (who has apparently been retired for a long while, though he still manages a small output when in the mood), but the shaping does look suspiciously very similar to his past attempts. He does seem to favor a good panel. The stem could be the clincher, as this tapered, turn-based style fills his archive. Either way, you're getting a very unique individual, complete with a chamber plenty deep, that sits with all the patience of your old Labrador Retriever.
