In my opinion, no one does Brandies like the Danes, hands down. The way their smooth, flowing style translates into the voluptuous curves of the shape's inherent form is, in a word, divine. In saying that, allow me to narrow my preferences down by maker: S. Bang (of course), Teddy Knudsen, Jess Chonowitsch, and the Nielsens. They (Viggo, Jorgen, and Kai) are, after all, family, trading techniques and whatnot. If made by Viggo Nielsen, however, you can bet he would have used a stem-base; if Jorgen had his way, he would have taken more artistic liberty with the bowl, perhaps extending and sharply tapering the rim or adding a slight point to the heel. Kai, however, when not taking stylistic cues from Viggo, would have preferred to keep things conservative, yet beautifully classic, and not without his signature, single-cantle saddle stem.
