When he's not making his signature "P" shape, "Uncle Peter", as he's affectionately known, produces some great classic shapes, as well as some smoothly blended hybrids. This is, without a doubt, a Danish Brandy, but in its flattened base and sharply tapering rim we see Heeschen crossing it with the classic Volcano. Here he reveals to us how closely related the shapes actually are, and how the Volcano could be viewed as a continuation of the Brandy. Now, I'm not particularly a fan of the Volcano shape, but for this piece I'll make an exception. Rounding the flanks of the bowl into a steep slope has allowed this pipe to remain natural and organic, though still adhering to modern Danish minimalism through the streamlined form and continuous, unobtrusive flow of the shank and stem.
