"By the impeccable fashion sense of Beau Brummel!" While, in today's market, Poul Winslow might be better known for decent grain, solid staining and (slightly) idiosyncratic shaping, when the man sets his mind to creating a stone-cold classic, there are few carvers out there who can keep up with him.
If you didn't have a carver's name to go by, and limiting your evaluation to the bowl and shank (just for a tick) could you see this Brandy having come from Hans Nielsen? I could. The immaculate bowl and graceful transition of the same onto the shank, the sterling... that insanely pretty grain. Not to get in trouble with a certain, multi-billion dollar food corporation, but I'm Loving It!.
