Danish Estates: Preben Holm Delight Partially Sandblasted Freehand (W) (9)

Product Number: 004-001-6260

Let's face it, Preben Holm's Freehands can be a bit "out there" in terms of shaping: wildly fluted carving, filled with whimsical channels and folds, as abstractly sculptural as an Umberto Boccioni piece, and some at unapologetically large scales. I think we can safely say that, even though this piece is a Freehand, it is far more conservative than the vast majority of his canonical shapes. It's also extremely hand friendly, as when you pick it up, you'll notice how well it fills out the hand - the tactile patches of sandblast dotting the organically rounded surface of the bowl, which tapers into a shape that eases naturally into the palm.
