Any time I look at a pipe that comes from a single carver, as opposed to a company that employs a team of carvers, I can't help but look for elements that remind me of others carver's work. Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that I see a prominent styling element, and often that element kicks in an immediate sense of deja' vu and being the obsessive-compulsive that I am, I have to seek the source that kicked that sense into play. When one looks at a pipe and the two carvers that sensation leads back to are Hans "Former" Nielsen, and Kent Rasmussen, you have one outstanding pipe in front of you. While overall classicism of the shape reminds me of Former, and that poignantly beautiful, knife like edge reminds me of Kent, this pipe is indisputably "Heding".
