Neither an Eskimo, nor a true Saucer, nor (by a long shot) a conventional Rhodesian, this Eltang is something quite different to my experience. Normally I find having my illusions of "absolutes" slapped about disturbs me, but as a lover of the Saucer-esque shape, this is one slap of reality that I can live with. The shank and stem feature a flattened profile, and the bowl is broad shouldered, but the rise of the dome sets this handsome fellow apart. Within that rim, as well as the top and bottom of the shank, scads of excellent birdseye (much of it large enough to qualify as ostrich eye) abound.
