About This Pipe

Perhaps after the P-shape, this nautilus shape from Peter Heeschen has become a defining Heeschen shape. In so many respects it lends itself perfectly to his style. The tight, upright approach to the shape that he employs fits his mold of short, smokable, yet interesting, shapes. Structurally, and from a smoking perspective, it's basically a bent dublin, albeit a seriously cool looking bent dublin. My point is that Peter is a pipe maker primarily focused on making a comfortable, well-engineered smoking instrument; the great rakish attitude of the pipe, from the front of the bowl visually driving forward like the prow of a ship to the great flip of the tail up and back into the back of the bowl, is all built around a solid core of great engineering that will deliver a superior smoking experience.

The pipe sports striking windswept grain extending towards the front and bottom of the bowl and terminating into tight, intricate birdseye. It's beautifully highlighted by the rich, red, almost berry like, stain that Peter employs on most of his smooth pipes. The composition is completed by a beautiful, and very comfortable looking, stem. The result is a great smoking pipe in a strikingly beautiful package.
