English Estates: Comoy's Grand Slam Patent Billiard (UK Pat.) (110) (1933-1945) (Replacement Stem)

Product Number: 004-002-6847

Back during the 30s, a Comoy's Grand Slam could be yours for the princely sum of about $82, adjusted for inflation - mind you, this was at a time when a lot people, even in the developed world, were still doing without much in the way of indoor plumbing, and being below the "poverty line" meant you were barely eating, not that you made do with a second-hand laptop and "only" one television. By '64, life was much easier, but the Grand Slam would have then cost you about $140 in today's dollars. Between the two, it would seem that these old Comoy's have held their value well, even while standards of living, and the widespread availability of quality briars, have increased considerably. Fittingly enough, this dark-finished number appears in classic straight Billiard form, a shape that, though very old indeed, seems to simply never get old.
