Had this hearty Group 5 straight Billiard been finished in the jet-black of the Shell Briar, I have no doubt it would bear a "Shell Ring Grain" stamping. As it is, I'm rather surprised it doesn't sport a "Shilling" stamp. Granted, I don't recall having ever seen a Tanshell Shilling, but unlike the Shell Ring Grain, the Shilling is known to appear on beautifully grained sandblasts of more than one finish style. Regardless of all that, the important point is that this is an exceptional example of a sandblasted English classic by any standards.
