English Estates: Dunhill Shell Briar Double Patent (114/7) (1925)

Product Number: 004-002-7337

Aside from having been brought into the world a whopping eighty-eight years ago*, this vintage Dunhill also happens to sport one of those extra-deep sandblasts of old which many Dunhill collectors favor. Then, of course, there's the rarity of a "double patent", i.e. a briar stamped with not one but two patent numbers. While overall in good condition, suggesting it was cared for, this Dunhill was obviously also enjoyed quite a bit as well, as the dot set into the stem has thoroughly darkened from absorbing smoke, and sunken a bit from buffing.

- Eric N. Squires

*- I should note we initially misidentified this as a 1945 pipe, so, tip of the hat to the customer who spotted the error. Though the extra twenty years of vintage only makes it a rarer find, the asking price remains the same as original.
