English Estates: Dunhill Root Briar (498) (1975)
Product Number: 004-002-8021
Well, we've seen a pre-transition Barling Billiard with a shape number "498", and a 1930s vintage Comoy's Rhodesian bearing the same designation, but for a Dunhill Bulldog, this is the first. Evidently this was a number more than one English marque liked the sound of (it does roll of the tongue nicely), but it does strike me as pretty odd that we've never seen a Dunhill sporting it before. I mean, they used it for the bent Bulldog - one of the most popular shapes around for generations.
