The "classic" Bulldog allows for a good deal more proportional variation than other shapes. Make a classic Billiard short and broad, for example, and it's no longer a classic Billiard. It's a classic Pot. The Bulldog on the other hand can be as wide and stout of bowl as a Pot, or as tall and trim as a Billiard, and still be considered a classic
Bulldog, so long as the stem, shank, and bowl all strike the right balance. This GBD as you can see is one of the svelter members of the Bulldog family - and still a straight-on classic.
