It only takes a quick glance to see why this massive Amber Flame was awarded 1 Flame. The fore of the bowl flaunts some serious flamage, but I am especially taken with the subtle, but rippling growth rings that run perpendicularly to the flame grain. Growth rings aren't always visible under a smooth finish; if this "XL" had been sandblasted, surely it would have earned a "Shilling" stamp. The chamber is broad and very deep, and has remained unsmoked for a full decade.
