English Estates: Dunhill Shell Briar (5201) (2002)
Product Number: 004-002-8240
I feel sorry for those who don't like the idea of owning a "used" pipe. Estate pipes are a great way to try out a more expensive briar, without breaking the bank. Case in point: this very clean Shell Briar. This group 5 Apple is in excellent condition and essentially saves you more than 300 greenbacks, when compared to the cost of a "new" one. The cross grain sandblast is detailed and, in my opinion, far more interesting than ring grain only because I enjoy the texture of sandblasted birdseye. It should be noted that there is no shortage of tight, defined rings running vertically across the front and back of the bowl. This group 5 chamber is actually a great middle-of-the-road size that will please many smokers.
