English Estates: Dunhill Root Briar (31282) (1978)
Product Number: 004-002-8451
While the Dunhill Root Briar has presented minor variations in hue since it was first introduced in 1930, when the stain of a given Root appears as dark and rich as the one that is now on your screen, there is another coloring factor in play: the rich patina created by the accumulation of oils, after many years of loving use.
The love and care lavished on this dashing Dunhill by the previous owner is amply evident in its 4.8/5.0 condition — aside from a tiny hint of rim darkening — this jewel is basically mint. The shape, the exact likes of which I have personally never run across, is low-slung and sophisticated. I can picture many a bowl of a fine Latakia mixture having been smoked it it, but all I can do is picture. The estate department performed such an exemplary restoration, nary a hint from any previous bowls can be discerned.
