About This Pipe
It was a grand idea to stain pipes black, especially when Dunhill marketed them for pipes perfect for a special, black tie occasion. Covering the grain pattern completely with black stain hides it all, unless the pipe gets over-buffed like this one. Still, this finish is all about shape, not desirability of grain, and this is a machine-perfect shape.
