About This Pipe
It may not be one of the pre-transition pieces most valued by collectors, but this transition-period Barling doesn't appear any worse off for its more recent vintage. The finish is rich and smoky with a warm amber tinge, the cross-grain pattern of the briar provides plenty to look at, it bears no fills, and the shaping is handy in length, deep of chamber, and smooth, clean, and classical in line and form.
