About This Pipe
It may be the pre-transition Barlings that carry the highest monetary value to collectors, but I can't say I think any less of this transition-period piece for having come along a bit later in the famed marque's long history. The grain is plentiful - flame and birdseye alike - if a bit off-kilter, the contrast finish is detailed, reserved, and handsome, the lines are all handsomely smooth and well-balanced, resulting in both a great classical look and an easy feel in hand, and to top it all off, it offers both plenty of chamber in a pipe that sits with aplomb.
