English Estates: Dunhill Bruyere (61033) (1977)
Product Number: 004-002-7336
For those not familiar with Dunhill's mid-70s to early-80s use of five-digit stamps, this is an "033" shape, not a mis-stamped "33" (which would be a bent Brandy, by today's chart.) The "033" straight Billiard appears to be, as rule, a big one - all of the examples we've seen have been Group 5 or 6 in size. As is not uncommon for Dunhill, there is a bit of variation to be found, the same stamping being used for both a long-stemmed version, like the one seen here, and for a variant that features a longer shank, but shorter stem (that is, a shank and stem of roughly equal length). This particular Bruyere example offers quite a sound cross-cut grain pattern, not symmetrical, but still one that leaves plenty of birdseye on show along either flank.
