About This Pipe

This is the first Dunhill "283" I've ever seen. Even Adam can't recall ever coming across one of these before. Flat-bottomed, with a heavy emphasis towards the lowest portion of the bowl, it's not only a rare shape, but an inherently unusual one from design-perspective as well, at least within the context of classic English shaping. It isn't a sitter, but it is pretty enjoyable in hand, and the flared mount and slim stem do quite a bit to lighten up the design, aesthetically speaking.
