About This Pipe
For 1997 it was time for the "Five Golden Rings" verse to have its turn, and so Dunhill chose a fittingly smooth and sensuous, full-bodied bent Billiard, here in a rich Bruyere finish. Aside from bearing one of the most complex tampers, depicting a trimmed tree trunk hung with rings, this year's edition was also unique for using a Quaint variation, rather than standard Dunhill design for the pipe itself.
This example also happens to be number "4/500" produced, a special number to collectors where Dunhill's limited editions are concerned, given that "1/x" remains in the hands of Dunhill. I don't know where that leaves "2/x" or "3/x", but I can say that I've never seen a single one yet.
