There isn't exactly a tremendous amount of information on Ken Dederichs readily available out there, which, judging from what Ryota has told me, may be intentional. Ken evidently likes to keep his pipemaking low-key; which may be why you've as likely as not never heard of him even though, as Adam Davidson put it, his work is awesome. Seeing the photos here, it's pretty obvious he's got serious chops when it comes to shaping, composition, working the briar to make the most of beautiful grain, and presenting it in a great contrast finish. Handling the pipe itself, however, is where details like spot-on drilling, and very fine stem and bit work come through.
