Here in this briar by Karl-Heinz Joura we find a curious creation; a bent shape, smoothly contoured from tip to tip, yet one which manages to come out quite bold and forthright in manner. This is created not so much by an jutting extension of the heel, but rather in main by the way Karl shaved down the lower bowl near the transition, pushing the latter forward and creating the illusion
of a jutting heel. The result possesses the full-bodied, easy hand-feel of a classic Brandy, but in a composition with a very modern look.
