German Estates: Ken Dederichs Smooth Panel Freehand with Boxwood Ferrule (Unsmoked)

Product Number: 004-005-4093

My introduction to the work of Ken'ichiro Dederichs-Uchida, a.k.a. Ken Dederichs, was accompanied by this brief explanation from Adam: "He's influenced by Cornelius Mänz and his pipes are awesome." That's no small praise, as Adam is one who very much believes in constructive criticism. Having now handled a few myself, I have to concur that Ken is making some of the most beautiful stuff around, with every attention to the details of not only line and form, but fit and finish as well. As low-key as Dederichs likes to keep things, I expect it's only a matter of time before just about every collector worth his or her salt knows this artisan's name.
