Irish Estates: Peterson Sherlock Holmes Smooth Bent Dublin (Fishtail) (1990)

Product Number: 004-004-2420

Perhaps the most distinct and original creation forged by Peterson, the "Bell" shape comes in many various sizes, including the '05', '305', '315', and the 'XL305', in order of scale. This Sherlock Holmes rendition is certainly all of 'XL305' caliber, while shaped close similarity to a Calabash. It is finished in a beautifully classic, burnt sienna stain, with webs of perfect birdseye stretching across both flanks, with cross-grain properly oriented almost dead center on the front face. Adapted as Holmes' pipe of choice for many television series, I do believe he would find this piece quite satisfactory - even though he was a notoriously overcritical fellow.
