Irish Estates: Peterson Sherlock Holmes Smooth Deerstalker (P-Lip) (2003)

Product Number: 004-004-2444

Smooth and firm, there's something about the Sherlock series' Deerstalker shape that does indeed remind me of the namesake cap - the sort famously donned by Holmes himself, of course. Admittedly there's nothing in its profile that matches the forward bill of a Deerstalker, but the forward shift and tilt of the bowl, and the posture of the following shank and stem all have a gesture that calls to mind just such a cap, tilted of the brow as Sherlock rushes about absorbed in his own thoughts and observations.
