Irish Estates: Peterson Galway Smooth (406) (P-Lip)
Product Number: 004-004-2603
Surprisingly enough, the marque's Galway finish is probably our rarest Peterson estate line with this only being the seventh to come through our estates department. Here we see it looking quite handsome on an unusual Peterson shape: the "406". In the past the 406 has taken the form of a Prince, yet it always possessed a rather plump Apple-like bowl. Once discontinued, it's currently featured almost exclusively in the marque's churchwarden series. Here, however, it appears to be a slightly larger cousin of the Peterson "407" straight Apple - the first straight 406 we've seen. One thing's certain: this is a pretty rare number for a price that can't be beat.
