Italian Estates: Mario Grandi Smooth Apple
Product Number: 004-006-8851
Applefish? Fishapple? While I suspect Mario Grandi was emulating some manner of old architectural or artistic feature with this briar's unusual shank-flaring (it does, somehow, seem familiar - but I just can't place it), in profile the results do bear a decided resemblance to a hybrid of pipe and fish - a mer-pipe, if you will. On top of that he threw a bead-line in as well, meaning this could technically be considered a Rhodesian, also. Either way, it definitely has some character, plus absolute loads of birdseye. It even sits, too.
