Domenico Romeo, or "Mimmo" as he is more simply referred to by most, is best-known in his role as a supplier of quality briar to artisans far and wide; the most trusted name in the business. However, he also happens to be quite a fine pipemaker as well. From his father he learned the craft of selecting and preparing briar, from his friend and client Teddy Knudsen he learned that of designing and fashioning pipes, and one look at his work makes it clear this combination of learning has not gone to waste. In this case it's resulted in a bent Brandy that's simultaneously easy-flowing and bold, the gentle curves of shank and stem leading naturally into a firm, sturdy transition, and their gesture continued through to a bold-heeled, trimly-tapered bowl. It's a design that's smooth and natural, yet firm in hand, and, as expected, Mimmo's shaped it from briar packed with flame grain and birdseye alike.
