Maurizio Tombari's pipes are hard to miss. His range, design-wise, seems to pretty much go from "Pesaro" to "minimalist abstract art sculpture". This smooth, sleek, flame-grained briar is, in case you hadn't noticed, a fine example of the latter. As radical as the design is, though, it's actually quite nice in hand. Because there's no rear face to the bowl, you can't grip it like a classic shape, but cradling it in palm, it proves smooth and natural.
