Never have I seen a Bulldog like this, and I must say it's a real stunner. Leave it to Castello to show me the light. This piece is undoubtedly a Castello in shape, even the most novice pipe enthusiast could call it from across the room--given the characteristic streamlined taper of the shank, the large, full bowl, and the eccentric shaping. But for all of its elongated proportions and quirky features, this piece still comes off as fairly conservative, though still incredibly dynamic--which is activated by the softness of the bowl paired with the sharp diamond shank, shooting out with the velocity of a jet. Somehow, however, the contrasting elements don't clash, but harmoniously meld together in seemingly impossible, and pleasing, ways.
