All Mauro Armellini pipes are made by hand, in a very small factory in the Barasso area of Italy (Castello's neck of the woods). The actual hands that created the pipe depend on the date of production. If pre 2004, it could have been either Mario Armellini or his daughter, Vilma and Rosa. Post 2004, it was Vilma and Rosa. Either way the Armellini briar has always represented a fine value for the dollar. This Armellini is generously sized and unabashedly Northern Italian in its shaping. This particular example is a big, yet elegantly fluid, rendition of the beloved Egg, which fills out in the hand thoroughly, with thick walls and a very deep chamber.
