Though quite a bit different than what we tend to see from him nowadays, this 2005 bent Pot does show Paolo's flare for non-traditional design, not to mention hints of the signature shaping cues he does use today. There's the combination of pinched, flattened transition and strongly tapered shank, for example, which hints at the even more dramatic wasp-waisted designs he now produces, which, as in this case, are typically paired to substantial, thick-walled bowls.
