About This Pipe
Hmmm. It's in excellent condition, but this pipe has clearly been enjoyed for years: I don't think I've ever seen a Radice Clear with this dark a patina; it's like finding Dunhill Roots from the 1950s that have been enjoyed for decades, but lovingly cared for. It's tough to date Radices before they started date stamping pipes (I think in 2004), but the cut of the stem makes me think this is probably 1980s or very early 1990s (the offset-saddle is an old Caminetto theme that I hadn't seen on Radices until the conscious embracing of old Caminetto themes with the Retro series in 2007). The grain, swept front to back as if by a hearty wind, is also impressive, and also shows off some nice birdseye on the front of the bowl.
