Relatively refined, this bent Dublin from Kitahara-san perfectly captures the (amazing) grain that once laid hidden within the block he chose. Echoing the impeccable flame grain of the bowl and flared shank, the stem was expertly cut from an equally well-grained rod of Cumberland. Clearly influenced by the Danes here, the soft lines and flowing form make for a piece that is as elegant as it is functional. Add to that thick walls and chamber dimensions that are, in my opinion, right in the "sweet-spot", and you have a pipe sure to become a regular in the rotation. Simply gorgeous!
