While a riff on an archetypal Danish aesthetic, this Billiard strikes me as being unmistakably Tsuge in form. Actually figuring out why that's the case is a little more difficult. Perhaps the secret is in the shape of the bottom of the bowl, or the angle of the shank and stem relative to the bowl, but there's definitely something here unique to the estimable carving firm. Here, the grain is beautiful, presented as it is in a classic cross-grain motif. All in all, a beautiful composition.
