New!  Japanese Estates: Tsuge Urushi Camellia Billiard with Bamboo and Tamper

Product Number: 004-007-0558

This incredible Tsuge straight Billiard with bamboo comes with its own tamper and brings with it a legendary art form that is now entering its tenth century of practice. At its most basic, Urushi can refer both to the incredibly durable lacquer that is created from the sap of the Asian sumac or to the totality of the completed art-product. Various sources of pigment are mixed with translucent lacquer and then applied to a porous surface like briar. From this point the surface is allowed to cure for up to a week before repeating the process. At that, some Urushi products can take up to a year and a half to complete. While there are dress pipes, here we find a formal pipe that is perfect for both dress and formal occasions, celebrating an art form that Japanese archeologists have dated to the Joman period of 9,000 years past. As far as I'm concerned this is a no-brainier.
