While some Volcanoes are massive, even bulky, in design, Ichi Kitahara has a way of presenting the shape in light and elegant style. Although still relatively new to the pipe-making world, he's demonstrated his skill time and time again. There's a remarkable balance to the composition - from the wonderfully shaped bowl, to the elongated, three-knuckled bamboo shank, to a slightly bent, shortened vulcanite stem. It's a remarkably organic number sporting plenty of flame grain and birdseye as well. Light it up and watch smoke dance from your lips and the smoldering leaf within as it takes you far away, to distant lands.
