Of a more solid, bolder design by the standards of Japanese design, the flame-grain covered bowl of this big Tsuge Ikebana dublin could easily pass for Danish, though the tight transition and upper shank certainly strike me as more Japanese, and the two knuckles worth of pale, flawless bamboo is more than a little conspicuous. The gentle taper of the tall, plateau-crowned bowl makes for a lovely feel in hand; very smooth and natural, and of course that height of bowl translates to plentiful depth of chamber as well.
