Rattray's is a Scottish marque, but they source most of their stummels from all over the place (the exception being those special-series pipes made by a small, two-man local artisan shop they employ), choosing according to those shapes and the level of quality they deem fit to bear their name. So, one way or another a Rattray estate will find itself tucked under our "Miscellaneous" category. In this case we find a broad rendition of a classic shape in jet-black and sterling silver - a traditional combination. The twist is that "jet -black" comes from it being rendered not in briar, but in morta.
