About This Pipe

This magnificent John Rocheleau has a compositional theme that I have never run across before. The impression is that of a mezza-luna (half moon) that shows a layered, rearward compression. Almost as if the pipe is being buffeted by a strong wind to the fore, resulting in ripples running away from the source of resistance. The overarching sense of the composition is very architectural and the grain is delightful.
