American Estates: John Crosby Smooth Freehand with Bamboo

Product Number: 004-009-5350

This past Saint Patrick's Day I noted a huge canvas featuring an imposing, albeit minimalist painting of a man's head hanging on the wall of Adam Davidson's new digs. Like this pipe, that painting was made by John Crosby one of Adam's fellow alumnus of Purdue University. It's one of his earlier works (the pipe, not the painting), using a much stouter piece of bamboo than you'll typically see on his more recent briars - less like the slender Danish or Japanese style, more like something you would expect to find affixed to a classic Dunhill "Whangee."
