Though an American, musician/artisan Jody Davis really knows how to do a very Danish freehand, as is clearly illustrated by the combination of complex artistry of line and form, and spot-on balance of this sandblasted Dublin - even though it is "merely" ranked as one of his Friar grades. In truth, though it does indeed appear complex at first glance, the most conspicuous flourishes of this design (the opposing asymmetries of bowl and shank alike, as well as the collaring ridge at the transition) are all traced out by a single, flowing, winding line.
