Sale!  American Estates: Andrew Marks Smooth Acorn (1973)

Product Number: 004-009-5570

Andrew Marks began making pipes in 1969, making this '73 bent Acorn one of his earlier works. The briar itself is liable to be a lot older, though, as he's known to consider twenty-five years his standard for how long blocks should be seasoned before shaping begins. A bit finicky, perhaps, but he certainly has made a lot of great pipes, winning none other than Norman Rockwell as a customer. This is a very light, jaunty little design, but as you can see it packs plenty of flame grain.
