American Estates: Benton Husky Spot Carved Billiard
Product Number: 004-009-5658
Though Bentons were marketed in the US, it's not clear where they were actually made. Pipedia's (very) brief mention suggests they were fashioned in Italy, just for the US market. Looking at this big, broad-bowled, very sturdy, and spot-carved example, it might appear that they were intended to compete with Custombilt, but a lot of the others we've seen were actually much more conservatively proportioned, and could have easily passed for English pipes. There are some obvious fills here, but this Benton still should do just fine for providing a full and lengthy smoke.
