New!  American Estates: Andy Petersen Sandblasted bent Apple with Mahogany (128)

Product Number: 004-009-5694

Andy Petersen is relatively new to our archives, with only one other pipe listed (that I just described, by the way), and already I'm already seeing aesthetic patterns leading to a style. Not to pigeon-hole Petersen in the slightest, but so far from what I've gathered, it's clear that he favors large, circular/saucer stems, the connecting mortise of which is here fortified by a ring of brass, allowing the stem to sit comfortably atop a large platform of mahogany. Sharp panels or organically creased flourishes seem to follow his elaborate accents, as demonstrated in the Ivarsson-esque, teardrop shank. He is also not beyond the allure of contrasting a thinly tapering transitions against the intensity of a large bowl.
